Essential Oils, Carrier Oils
Essential oils can be very useful if used properly. These oils have been used as medicines for over 5000 years and before that, the plants were used. Essential oils were the most common remedy given by medical doctors before synthetic drugs were invented. Most synthetic drugs were created as a cheaper copy of the essentail oils. But please be diligent when using essential oils. READ the warnings below.

ALL ESSENTIAL OILS ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.
They can cause skin irritation and burning to convulsions and liver toxicity. Because essential oils are so potent, they should be used only as fragrances by the laymen. In therapeutic aromatherapy, essential oils are used topically and orally, but these routes should only be attempted with the help of a professional. ESSENTIAL OILS MUST ALWAYS BE USED IN SMALL DOSES
1-3 drops is sufficient and never more than 3 times a day. It is recommended to follow the advice of a professional.
Many essential oils are cumulative and can cause liver toxicity, especially when used in large doses or for long periods of time. Always use essential oils sparingly – 1-3 drops a day, and for short periods 1-3 days.
Dilute essential oils in a carrier oil for bath or topical application. Dilute with honey or maple syrup when taking orally (under professional advice only).
Essential oils can be used pure for inhalation purposes (put 1-2 drops on a cottonball) or with a diffuser (follow diffuser direction).
When cooking with essential oils, dilute in olive oil, and add to the recipe at the end of cooking.
1Tsp. of dried herb = 1-3 drops of it’s essential oil.
DO NOT USE ESSENTIAL OILS IF:
You have impaired liver function
You are pregnant or nursing
You have epilepsy or other neurological conditions
You are taking blood pressure medication
You have an allergy to the plant from which the essential oil was distilled
