Eliminating Toxins In Your Food
Everyday we consume toxins through our diet. I have been aware of these toxins, but always thought there was nothing I could do about it. OK…I lied, I was too lazy to worry about. There are probably many of you out there that are thinking the same thing.
Processed foods are choc full of chemicals that don’t need to be in our bodies. One thing we can do it to begin eliminating processed foods from our diets. What ever happen to a good home cooked meal? It just wasn’t convenient I guess. Unfortunately, what we have done is trade our health and well being for convenience. When our babies being eating solid foods, most parents buy baby food. It’s pretty sad that at 4 months old, we are exposing our babies to chemicals. Anything that can remain on the shelf for long periods of time and not go bad has obviously got some kind of preservatives in them.
With my first daughter, I did what most parents do. Stocked up on baby food jars. I continued to feed her this “high quality” baby food because I thought I was doing a good thing. That was until I opened a jar of beef. I began to gag almost immediately at the smell, look and texture. I thought “I wouldn’t eat this!” So why was I feeding this to my infant. It was from then on that I decided to make her food myself.
I purchased some ice cube trays and already had a blender. You could also use a food processor. I began to boil, blend and freeze various veggies, fruits and meats for my daughter. She was now eating much healthier than I was.
Here are some ways of reducing toxins

Cook your own food from fresh produce
Reduce junk foods such as pop, chips, etc
Eat fresh raw produce
Eat more seeds and nuts
Do your best to choose organics, I know it’s more pricey
