Reducing Chemicals In Your Personal Care

Everything that come into contact with your body is being absorbed. In fact we absorb about 1.5L of water everyday when we bath/shower. I hadn’t really thought much about this until recently.

Let’s walk through an average day. We wake up in the morning in sheets and clothes that have been cleaned and dried in chemicals. We get out of bed and ingest various chemicals in our breakfast. Next we take a nice shower in our chemically treated water. We then apply chemicals called shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to our bodies. Each pore and hair follicle absorbs a certain amount of chemical. Once we are out of the shower we insert more chemicals in our mouth and brush it around. Then usually follow by a nice chemical rinse. Anyways…I could go on and on. Certainly there are items that can’t be avoided, like the water that is coming into your house, however you can make steps to avoid all the extras.

I’m not saying to stop everything at once, but if you are truly interested in reducing your daily chemical intake, I can provide some simple recipes to help out. Just visit our Homemade Skin/Hair Care Recipes.
