It’s difficult to sleep when there are distractions in the house. If others are still awake, ask them to turn the radio or TV down. Or perhaps they can go to a different part of the house, away from your room. You may also try different alternatives such as earplugs or a fan for background noise if the external noises such as street sounds, planes, etc. Heavy curtains can also muffle outside noises.
