Green Tea
There is a lot of hype about Green Tea and it effectiveness on weight loss. I had never drank tea or coffee before so I was a little intrigued. I have done a lot of research on the subject and found that there are many sources that do give green tea credit with it comes to weight loss.
Here are a few points that were common on almost every single site I researched (which were many). Green tea increases metabolism (between 2.9% to 4%), helps burn fat (increases by 12% to 35%), blocks the conversion of energy into fat, helps your body absorb less dietary fat, helps regulate your blood sugar levels and reduces food cravings.
The main ingredients responsible for the benefits above are caffeine and EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate). It is commonly understood that a weight loss goal should be one to two pounds per week. If you lose any more than that you be losing water and muscle.
If you significantly reduce your calorie intake, your body will think that it is starving. It will go into energy saving mode and slow down your metabolic rate, your body will start feeding on itself, the only problem is that it feeds on your muscles, not your fat. Water weight will be gained back immediately as you rehydrate.
There are many things in green tea that can help you lose weight. If you don’t particularly like the taste, there are other version out there. I prefer the “Mango, Passion fruit, Acai Green Tea by Tetly’ but you can choose what you like. I suggest giving it a try. One thing I forgot to mention, great tea is only effective if you drink minimum 5 cups per day everyday. So, if you think it’s right for you, give it a shot.
Now that you have finish, why don’t you give some other techniques a try.
