Procrastination


How to overcome procrastination for weight loss. How many times have you said to yourself. I will start my diet tomorrow, or next Monday, or on ____ date. This is called procrastination. And in the mean time, you continue to eat as you always have. If this is your mind set, you will never achieve weight loss. I am a huge procrastinator and had to overcome this myself.


I know when I was trying to eat right I would always have difficulty with unconsciously eating something I was not supposed to. I would catch myself after I ate, or during. Then I would say to myself, “I’ve blown my diet for today, might as well start again tomorrow.” But then I would just continue to blow my eating right for the rest of the day, because I knew tomorrow was going to be a healthy day. Then tomorrow would come and I would accidentally blow it again.


What I started to do was, if I caught myself not eating right while I was eating it, I would immediately stop and put it away or throw it out. If I caught myself after wards, I would simply accept that it happened and continued to eat healthy for the rest of the day. This way, I would stick to my plan and not get the extra calories or food, that I normally would have.
