Surviving Holiday Treats

If you’re like me, holiday treats are the worst thing that can happen to your new healthy lifestyle. I can’t seem to resist those homebaked goodies, espicially during gatherings. My goal this year is to allow myself two treats per day and only after supper. This may sound like a lot to someone who doesn’t have a problem with sweets, but, to those who have a sweet tooth, this can be torture. You can set your goal to whatever is appropriate for you.

If you have an issue with pop, then limit yourself to one pop per day, at around supper time. The reason supper time is important is because, when we wake up, we have more motivation to eat healthy. And usually, if you have something that you usually crave early in the day it will have a cascading effect. This means that if you have a treat, next thing you know, an hour or two later, you will be having another treat and this will continue till the end of the evening. Try to eat good all day and as a reward, for the holiday season only, you can allow yourself one treat after dinner.
