Every other chakra is downstream and get’s it’s power from the Root. The root chakra represents the earth and all of our survival instincts. It governs our primal erotic and procreational urges. It is the center of physical energy and is related to our sense of grounding in the physical world. It allows us to connect to the earth energies and empower our being. This chakra also contains the primary 8 cells that have all the knowledge of creation and remain the only cells in our body that do not change in our lifetime. The Root Chakra governs issues around physical self-preservation, stability, acceptance, deep-rootedness, perception, fear, stillness, health, prosperity and safety. The Root Chakra is the center for manifestations.

Status

An under-active or closed Root chakra has the following characteristics: Lack of confidence, weak, can’t achieve goals, suicidal, sexual energy is non existent, feel unlovable, masochistic, fear, insecurity. If this energy center is blocked it can result in a core sense of unworthiness, self-doubt and shame. Often acquire and try to keep control of material possessions. Addictive personality. There can be many ways to open to root chakra such as dancing, cleaning your house, cooking, and gardening. You can use positive affirmations, stones, scents, or colors to help open this chakra. You need to learn to accept yourself for the way you are. Stop judging yourself and others.

An open status has the following characteristics: centered, grounded, healthy, fully alive, unlimited physical energy, can manifest abundance, body is in good shape. People who have open root chakras love their lives and love their physical bodies.

An over-active Root chakra has the following characteristics: egoistic, domineering, greedy, sadistic, sexual energy entirely genital, judging, and usually has biased opinions. You can help tone done your root chakra by wearing the color green and taking the time to enjoy each moment.
